The high price of raw material methanol has slightly decreased, while the high price of liquid chlorine has been consolidated, and the cost of trichloromethane continues to support; The overall inventory of trichloromethane enterprises is low, and the supply of goods in the closed market of a certain factory in the region is tight. Although downstream construction is temporarily stable, coupled with some demand support for trichloromethane from pre holiday stocking, the enterprise has a strong willingness to increase the factory price.

Recently (9.15-9.22), the domestic methane chloride production has been basically normal, with an overall production rate of around 75%.

Recently (from September 15th to September 22nd), the price of raw material methanol has risen and fallen, while the price of liquid chlorine has remained high, and the cost of trichloromethane continues to be supported. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of the Business Society, as of September 22, the spot price of methanol was 2525 yuan/ton, a decrease of 0.36% from last Friday’s 2535 yuan/ton, and the highest point in the cycle was 2605 yuan/ton. The high price of raw material liquid chlorine has been sorted out, and as of the 22nd, the acceptance price of tank trucks was 400 yuan/ton, which continued to support trichloromethane in terms of cost.

Refrigerant R22 has been operating at a stable and high price overall, coupled with a significant increase in exports in August compared to July. In the short term, there is a strong demand for chloroform, but in 2023, the total production quota of R22 will be reduced by 19% to 181800 tons. In the medium to long term, the overall support for chloroform demand will weaken. According to customs data, the export volume of R22 in August 2023 was 9634 tons, a significant increase from 8560 tons in July.

Analysts from Business Society’s methane chloride data believe that there is still support for Chen Ben and demand in the short term, and it is expected that the trichloromethane market will continue to operate at a high level.
